Literary term: Perspective: The direction (aka character(s)) a story comes from.
                       Epilogue: A chapter, section, or scene included after the story is really over.

ONE WEEK TODAY, TERM ONE CUT OFF!!! NOVEMBER 20TH.

"Third Expedition" worksheet:

Black: Being in the dark about things; foreshadow dark ending; death.

David: Religious/Biblical; Be loved- first meet loved--grandparents.

Lustig: Carefree;optimistic.

Ston---British "town"(??) Hink--- "Hank"(??)

Get HINKSTON, LUSTIG, and GREEN BLUFF for next class.

Define vocab-- LOOK BACK TO STORY. Use an actual dictionary; or Oxford online. Use full definition.

Notes on "The Third Expedition":

POV: Third person-  Objective, all but the penultimate section which is limited omniscient. A shift in POV- like in "Ylla".

Perspective: Start with crew- mostly John's- then ultimate section is from Martians perspective.

Motif: Religion and Music.

Allusion: Religion: mostly Christian/biblical.

Ultimate section = Kind of Epilogue.
